Saint Agrippina of Mineo was a beautiful princess and a consecrated virgin from a good Roman family. She was martyred during the persecutions instituted by Emperor Valerian, either beheaded or scourged to death. After her martyrdom, Agrippina’s three holy companions, Bassa, Paula, and Agatonica, transported her body from Rome to Mineo, Sicily. Aided by angels and a cloud that covered them all the way from Rome to Sicily preventing them from harm. Her tomb became a popular pilgrimage destination, noted for miracles through Agrippina's intercession.
