Saint Kizito was the youngest of the 22 Ugandan martyrs killed by King Mwanga II and was later canonized by Pope St. Paul VI in 1964. As a royal page, he courageously refused the immoral demands of the King, choosing instead to remain steadfast in his faith. A few days before his execution, Kizito was baptized by St. Charles Lwanga. Although he was advised to hide from the ongoing persecution of Christians, the fourteen-year-old Kizito refused to leave. He ultimately faced death by being burned alive, reportedly approaching his martyrdom with joy and a profound hope for heaven.
